The JUNTA DE ACCION PUERTORRIQUENA INC is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Food Worker to join our team. As a Food Worker, you will be responsible for the implementation of the Child and Adult Food Program, ensuring compliance with program guidelines and expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Administer food purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of all student meals to the classrooms.
- Prepare and serve a nutritionally balanced breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack for preschool-age students.
- Collect daily student count from each classroom and organize meals into family-style proportions for each room.
- Ensure proper distribution and delivery of all student meals to the classrooms.
- Collect and process CACFP Eligibility Applications for each child prior to their start date.
- Receive and sign off on food delivery, ensuring that all invoices reflect delivered items.
- Send all invoices to the Fiscal Department on a weekly basis.
- Keep records of students' allergy information and ensure center compliance.
- Prepare meal times, including breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack.
- Manage inventory of food items and other food-related supply items for the center.
- Complete monthly Meal Count Report and Attendance Count Report.
- Cross-reference Attendance Records with Meal Count Records for the End of the Month CACFP report.
- Submit CACFP voucher to the Main Office by the required deadline.
- Follow center policy for the discipline and care of students in accordance with the DYFS and PRAB manual & procedures.
- Establish and maintain a safe and healthy environment.
- Responsible for the overall organization and management of the Kitchen.
- Understand and follow center's Crisis Management Plan and Procedures.
- Responsible for the proper sanitary preparation of food and upkeep of proper storage methods utilized daily in the kitchen.
- Responsible for the proper upkeep and sanitary conditions of the kitchen facility, utensils, and appliances.
- Maintain and safeguard the rights of each family/child to privacy, respect, and confidentiality.
- Develop good communication with co-workers and supervisors.
- Ensure compliance with PRAB rules, regulations, and procedures in accordance with the Employee Handbook.
- Work in collaboration with staff and supervisors.
- Grow professionally and actively participate in the school's professional learning community.
- Attend on-staff meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Attend training on food preparation and storage to utilize such techniques on a daily basis.
- Demonstrate consistent and reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Follow NJ state requirements as per the NJ Department of Children and Families, Office of Licensing, Chapter 122 Manual of Requirements for Child Care Centers.
- Ensure compliance with PRAB rules, regulations, and procedures in accordance with the PRAB Employee Handbook.
- Understand and follow center's Crisis Management Plan and Procedures.
- High School Diploma/GED
- Two years of experience with school meal preparation preferred
- Fully committed to PRAB's vision, mission, and strategic goals and outcomes.
- Follow NJ state requirements as per the NJ Department of Children and Families, Office of Licensing, Chapter 122 Manual of Requirements for Child Care Centers.
