Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Social Worker I to join our team at the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. As a Social Worker I, you will provide direct social work services to offenders under the supervision of the Division of Parole and Probation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical supportive services and individual counseling for crisis intervention as assigned
  • Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop remediation plans as assigned
  • Lead therapeutic and didactic groups, as well as individual support groups with a cognitive-behavioral theory base
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary treatment teams and contribute to progress review meetings and group sessions
  • Complete administrative tasks associated with social work functions, including maintaining and completing monthly reports and statistics
  • Serve on special work groups as assigned by supervisor
  • Attend clinical staff meetings as scheduled
Requirements
  • Must be licensed as a Graduate Social Worker, Master Social Worker, Certified Social Worker, or Certified Social Worker-Clinical by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners
  • Must possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland
