Job Description

As a Psychiatric Technician at McLeod Health, you will play a vital role in providing mental health support to patients. Your responsibilities will include:

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a professional image and providing excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers.
  • Recognizing normal signs of growth and development in patients and understanding requirements for assessment, treatment, and care.
  • Initiating and maintaining hygiene and cleanliness standards in patient and unit environments.
  • Conducting patient safety rounds using Service Excellence Standards.
  • Promoting comfort and safety for patients and visitors.
  • Performing or assisting with nutritional and hydration interventions.
  • Collecting and recording patient data through direct care tasks.
  • Demonstrating continued professional growth through setting goals and participating in Evidence-Based tasks.
  • Fostering an environment that demonstrates caring, compassion, and respect for all patients, families, and visitors.
  • Performing general transportation and courier duties as directed.
  • Participating proactively in problem-solving initiatives.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Qualifications / Training

  • Zero to less than 1 year of work-related experience.

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
