Position Overview:

The HVAC Installer is responsible for the thorough and satisfactory installation of residential and/or light commercial HVAC systems and accessories. This role includes supervising Install Helpers to ensure proper execution of tasks. The Installer will engage with customers to address inquiries, resolve issues, and guarantee complete satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently install HVAC systems and accessories in customer residences
  • Install heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment according to company standards and manufacturer specifications, performing diagnostics as necessary
  • Design, fabricate, and install ductwork and fittings as required
  • Conduct start-ups on heating and cooling systems and associated components
  • Deliver exemplary customer service and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Promote products and services during customer interactions, relaying potential sales leads to the Sales and Service Coordinator
  • Manage the delivery and removal of equipment necessary for installation tasks
  • Ensure proper use, maintenance, and accountability of company property, vehicles, and tools
  • Complete all documentation accurately and promptly, including payment collection from customers
  • Represent the company with professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of installation vehicles
  • Follow standard procedures to ensure vehicle stock is maintained and defective parts are returned
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Health & Safety Responsibilities:

  • Report unsafe conditions or acts to the supervisor immediately
  • Notify management of any violations of safety regulations or company policies
  • Address substandard conditions within your control
  • Utilize and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Comply with all safety protocols and procedures
  • Participate in safety initiatives and report any incidents promptly
  • Contribute to the development of safety initiatives to mitigate risks
  • Adhere to all applicable legislative requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED with additional training and 2 to 5 years of HVAC experience, including technical certification
  • Possession of all necessary licenses or certifications as mandated by local regulations
  • EPA and safety certifications are required
  • Understanding of heating, air conditioning, and ventilation systems and their components
  • Proficient in installing HVAC systems independently
  • Knowledge of ductwork layout and installation requirements
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate necessary tools and equipment
  • Basic skills in reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting HVAC systems
  • Effective communication skills for customer interaction and issue resolution
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Availability for flexible hours and on-call shifts
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions and perform physical tasks as required
  • Capability to lift and carry heavy items safely
