Position Summary & Key Responsibilities:

We are in search of a Phlebotomy Technician for our Laboratory Draw Centers located throughout the Treasure Valley. This role operates on a PRN basis. In this capacity, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by utilizing your existing phlebotomy and laboratory technician expertise.

Key Duties:

The ideal candidate, under the general supervision of the laboratory supervisor, will be responsible for collecting blood samples, accurately identifying patients, transporting specimens, and executing all associated clerical and computer-related tasks.

As a Phlebotomy Technician at Saint Alphonsus Health System, you will engage in essential tasks related to registering, ordering, accurately collecting, labeling, processing, and distributing specimens for laboratory analysis from patients of all demographics. You will also be tasked with using relevant software applications and performing data entry. You will act as the primary communication link for the laboratory regarding all incoming requests while ensuring the quality and quantity of specimens sent to reference laboratories and managing the reporting of results received.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Effective communication skills with patients and hospital personnel.
  • Proficient understanding of medical terminology and computer systems.
  • Phlebotomy certification is preferred.
  • Experience in a hospital phlebotomy setting is preferred.
