Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect patient data and obtain medical history
  • Perform treatment procedures, prepare instruments for sterilization, and maintain a sanitary work area
  • Coordinate and schedule appointments, verify medical coverage, and perform basic cashiering duties
  • Assist providers with treatment procedures, set up sterile fields, and chaperone as needed
  • Administer medication, document clinical findings, and communicate with patients and staff
  • Enter data into computer systems, verify accuracy, and schedule patient appointments
Requirements
  • High School or GED Equivalent
  • Program Graduate or 2 years of Medical Assistant experience
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer certification
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and rotate shifts
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a clinical setting with potential exposure to biohazardous materials and chemicals. PPE will be provided as necessary.
