Position Overview:
Dexian is currently seeking a Radiologic Imaging Specialist to join our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts fluoroscopic examinations for patients across various age groups, adhering to established radiology practice standards.
- Handles all aspects of patient imaging care, including file management, clerical tasks, physician support, and other essential duties to ensure optimal patient outcomes in the outpatient surgery setting.
- May provide instruction and preparation for patients undergoing radiologic assessments under supervision.
- Determines appropriate anatomical positioning and ensures patient shielding to minimize radiation exposure.
- Prepares patients for radiologic procedures by clearly explaining the process and removing any obstructive items, such as jewelry.
- Positions patients accurately for effective imaging of the required body parts.
- Places x-ray film correctly for examinations, performs exposures, and subsequently develops the films.
- Operates both stationary and portable radiologic equipment to capture images for diagnostic purposes.
- Produces and develops x-ray films (radiographs), creates duplicates, and processes films for medical evaluation.
- Prepares necessary solutions for film processing.
- Assists in fluoroscopic procedures; under guidance, captures clinical images of unique cases and ensures proper identification.
- Maintains imaging equipment and workspace in optimal condition.
- Monitors patients throughout the imaging process.
- Utilizes radiation protection measures, such as lead shields, to safeguard patients from unnecessary exposure.
- Measures anatomical thickness using specialized instruments and adjusts machine settings to achieve the desired image quality.
- Maintains accurate records and files related to imaging procedures.
- Generates reports as required and performs other related tasks.
Qualifications:
- Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary radiologic equipment and techniques, as well as human anatomy.
- Ability to communicate effectively and provide emergency assistance when necessary; proficient in preparing and processing x-ray films.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Current certification as a Radiologic Technologist in diagnostic radiologic technology is mandatory.
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience, including training in radiologic techniques under a certified medical radiologist.
- Completion of a two-year training program in radiologic technology accredited by the appropriate medical associations.
- Familiarity with email systems, such as Microsoft Outlook, for effective communication.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel for document creation and data management.
- Experience with systems like WebMD and Intergy for data entry and review is preferred.
