Job Title: LPN Evening/Night

About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated LPN to join our team at Lutheran Senior Services. As an LPN Evening/Night, you will provide daily supportive and functional care to residents in a compassionate environment, working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to focus on the resident as the director of their own care.

Responsibilities:

* Maintain residents' comfort and provide physical care with activities of daily living according to scope of practice
* Answer resident's call lights and requests, reporting observations to the nurse
* Handle residents' personal care needs and support in a timely manner, helping maintain residents' dignity by letting them do as much for themselves as possible
* Observe residents closely to identify changing needs and conditions, reporting information to the nurse
* Actively participate in residents' care/service plans for the purpose of improving residents' lives
* Assist residents during mealtimes and feed residents who need full assistance
* Create and maintain meaningful relationships with residents and their families, providing support with compassion and professionalism
* Support residents' involvement in decision making regarding their own daily activities, assisting residents with activities
* Assist with residents' therapies and treatments under the direction of licensed staff
* Document care provided in clinical records
* Maintain a clean and safe environment

Requirements:

* Current CNA certification
* A desire to be part of a person-centered care team
* Prior experience with direct patient/resident care preferable

This job requires the ability to stand, walk, use hands to touch, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, and talk to hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and taste or smell. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and push/pull 45 lbs.

A well-lighted and ventilated working area that has its own temperature control system (air conditioning and heat). Is subject to emotionally upset residents, or family members. Is willing to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary. Is subject to exposure to fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including exposure to the AIDS and Hepatitis B virus within guidelines of standard precautions. Appropriate ergonomic and personal safety equipment is provided as needed.
