- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) certification is required.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent is preferred.
- One year of recent experience in a geriatric setting or acute care hospital is preferred.
- Admissions, Discharge, and Transfer Responsibilities:
- Ensure complete room setup for new admissions.
- Orient patients and families to the facility and room.
- Inventory and document patient belongings upon admission and update as needed.
- Transfer and transport patients to activities, therapies, and other departments on time and safely.
- Patient Care Activities:
- Complete and sign documents accurately and timely.
- Provide patient care within scope of responsibilities.
- Document daily care of patients per unit standards.
- Identify and communicate new patient care issues or concerns.
- Safety:
- Comply with universal precautions and hospital infection control policies.
- Use proper body mechanics and available support equipment to ensure patient safety.
- Identify and communicate patients at risk for injury to self and others.
- Time Management:
- Demonstrate ability to prioritize workload in accordance with patient needs and staffing patterns.
- Communicate with other staff to develop a plan for best use of resources.
- Knowledge of basic patient care skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills.
- Fluent knowledge of English.
