Mechanical Designer

Tetra Tech is seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our team. As a Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for designing and developing HVAC systems for various projects. You will work closely with senior-level mechanical engineering staff and assist in the development of design documents, including engineering reports, calculations, and drawings.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop HVAC systems for various projects
- Prepare, review, or modify HVAC system layouts, load calculations, equipment selections, and energy calculations
- Incorporate design changes using Revit modeling software
- Coordinate mechanical equipment requirements with other disciplines
- Meet project schedules and perform work within budgetary constraints
- Assist in the preparation of status reports, basis-of-design descriptions, project manuals, responses to client comments, technical memoranda, and other project-related documentation
- Review submittals and provide responses to Requests for Information
- Conduct field investigations and facility startup support services as needed
- Minimum 4+ years of HVAC systems drafting and design experience using the latest version of Revit modeling software
- Must have design experience working with project architects on industrial/commercial buildings
- Possess the ability to exercise independent judgment to achieve generally stated objectives and requirements
- Must be able to collaborate with others to establish timelines and budgets, as well as solve problems
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience helping to maintain successful client relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A valid driver's license, and ability to travel to client offices and project sites, good driving record
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- Associate degree in computer-Aided Design/Drafting or a closely related field
- Experience in building plumbing systems is a plus
