Position Overview:
We are in search of an Accounts Receivable Manager to join our team. This role is essential in managing the unique requirements of our Client Inventory Management. Key responsibilities include analyzing client accounts, collaborating with billing attorneys, ensuring timely invoice payments, and providing leadership with insights on payment trends and challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all facets of receivables management, particularly focusing on accounts that are delinquent or at risk.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with clients and billing attorneys regarding the status of work in progress and accounts receivable.
  • Deliver regular updates to billing attorneys about their client inventory positions.
  • Assist in forecasting efforts to meet monthly revenue targets.
  • Provide exceptional service to ensure satisfaction for both attorneys and clients while exercising sound judgment in all duties.
  • Ensure accuracy and efficiency when managing a high volume of billing attorneys and clients.
  • Collaborate closely with the billing team to ensure efficient invoicing and address any client concerns promptly.
  • Identify trends and risks in inventory proactively and develop effective action plans.
  • Promote adherence to firm policies to enhance inventory management and turnover.
  • Focus on minimizing accounts receivable write-offs and reducing aged receivables.
  • Develop improved workflows for common accounts receivable tasks to optimize time management for billing attorneys while maintaining necessary controls.
  • Build strong working relationships with cross-functional teams.
  • Engage regularly with firm leadership to discuss at-risk accounts and formulate prompt action plans.
  • Coordinate with the credit team to assess potential financial risks associated with clients.
  • Work closely with the cash applications team to ensure timely and accurate posting of client payments.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the success of the department and the firm.
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred, along with 5+ years of relevant experience in law firm collections or business-to-business collections.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a strong focus on detail and quality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships.
  • Self-motivated with a track record of driving results and managing multiple projects independently.
  • Ability to adapt to a team environment with shifting priorities and time constraints.
  • Strong work ethic and professionalism.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with Thompson Reuters 3E is a plus.
Preferred: Previous experience in an AmLaw 100 law firm is advantageous.
