About the Role

Buckner Retirement Services Community is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team. As a LVN, you will be responsible for implementing the goals and objectives of the unit, nursing service, and facility through coordinating resident care management and staff direction, and providing direct nursing care to residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that individual health care plans are followed, administer or supervise treatments prescribed by physicians.
  • Maintain compliance with all Buckner policies, procedures, and requirements, as well as federal and state laws and agency regulatory guidelines.
  • Make meaningful rounds of all residents, utilizing health care plans, and make rounds with physicians, accurately and timely recording visits on charts.
  • Administer intramuscular and subcutaneous injections, perform in-house testing procedures, take and record vital signs.
  • Assist in maintaining current health care plans according to a schedule rotation and documenting acute episodes or significant changes in resident status.
  • Supervise aides in the performance of their duties by monitoring their work, assigning aides to residents, specifying break times, and special duties to be completed.
Requirements
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and hold current Texas nursing licensure.
  • Must complete and/or meet training, certification required by Buckner and the State of Texas.
  • Previous experience in long-term care is preferred.
  • PRN status requires employees to work a minimum of 2 shifts every 60 days to maintain employment.
  • Minimum one-year related experience.
  • Requires proficient ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Work schedules, assignments, and units as requested by the facility to meet business needs.
  • Requires ability to use up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 20 pounds continuously to move food service and preparation equipment and other objects.
  • Requires ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time, ability to turn, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, stand, and walk over 75% of shift.
  • Adhere to the Licensed Vocational Nurse practice standards as established by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners.
