Job Summary

Lone Star College is seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Government courses. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging lessons, evaluating student progress, and maintaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.

This is a part-time position, contingent upon student demand, with a maximum of five classes per academic year. Classes are offered at various times and locations during the academic year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Government courses at a variety of times and locations
  • Create engaging lessons that promote student involvement and application of the material
  • Submit required college reports and forms in a timely manner
  • Utilize a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines
  • Meet with and advise students either before or after class or by appointment, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods
  • Evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and inform students in a timely manner of their progress
  • Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required
Requirements

  • Master's degree in political science/government or Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in political science/government; JDs and MPAs must have 18 graduate hours in related political science/government courses
