Patient Care Associate Job Summary

The Patient Care Associate performs routine duties within the limits of training and certification in caring for the hospitalized patient. The care is rendered under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Performs other duties related to the work described herein.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assists nursing team with a variety of patient care activities.
  • Cares for patients with personal hygiene, dressing, and walking.
  • Changes bed linens and assists with patient transportation.
  • Serves and collects food trays and provides patients with between-meal nourishment.
  • Records temperature or vital signs under the direction of a nurse.
Requirements:
  • Completion of an accredited medical assisting program preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
