We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Patient Care Supervisor-Registered Nurse to join our team at Cabell Huntington Hospital/St. Mary. As a key member of our nursing leadership team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and supervision to our nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Care Management: Assess patient care requirements, make rounds in the Emergency Department and other areas of the hospital, and implement staffing plans based on patient acuity and census.
- Staff Supervision: Serve as a resource to staff for solving clinical problems, assist staff to efficiently utilize staffing resources, and provide immediate follow-up and documentation of incidents.
- Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations, such as RRT and Code Blue, and assist as needed.
- Administrative Support: Act as a resource in identifying and solving administrative/operational problems, anticipate and address potential issues, and work collaboratively with nursing and ancillary staff to solve problems.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to hospital and nursing policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including state, federal, and local regulations.
- Education and Training: Provide ongoing feedback, guidance, and support to staff, facilitate attendance at staff development sessions, and identify and communicate staff needs for continuing education.
- Quality Improvement: Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement initiatives, and maintain a positive and professional attitude in all interactions.
- Education: Current registered nurse licensure in the state of West Virginia.
- Experience: A minimum of five years of experience in an acute care setting, with critical care experience and supervisory experience preferred.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
