Our expected salary range is between $123,300 and $137,000, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes bonuses and a 401(k) plan.
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
This role is responsible for overseeing the Radiation Protection Technicians in executing decontamination, instrumentation, planning and scheduling, procedures, training, radiation exposure control, and radioactive waste management programs in support of operational and maintenance activities.
Ensures adherence to relevant regulatory and state requirements while interfacing with plant staff and regulators regarding the implementation of the Radiation Protection program.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Supervise, monitor, and coach employees daily to ensure a productive workforce in compliance with company policies and procedures, while maintaining positive employee relations as per the collective bargaining agreement or other employee policies.
- Manage the functional Radiation Protection program to ensure timely completion of work and maintain nuclear worker exposure at ALARA levels.
- Facilitate effective communication of company programs, announcements, and policies to assigned employees, while also gathering feedback from them.
- Assist in developing budgets, business plans, and projects.
- Directly supervise laborers and Radiation Protection Technicians responsible for routine plant cleaning and decontamination of equipment and tools.
- Accountable for managing performance in areas such as plant contaminated square footage and personnel contamination events.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma required.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in radiation protection within a nuclear reactor facility.
- Successful completion of core supervisory and management training programs.
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
- Basic computer skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Successful completion of the NRRPT certification.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Physics or a related field.
