Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Experience: Minimum of one year in Nuclear Medicine

License: State license/registration required

Certifications: ARRT or CNMT certification in Nuclear Medicine, CPR certification

Must-Have:

  • Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine Technology program

Job Description:

  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Conduct high-quality testing on patients, utilizing special training in the safe use of radioactive materials and sophisticated imaging equipment.
  • Deliver quality healthcare without age limitations.
  • Review provider's orders and consult with the Radiologist as necessary.
  • Complete departmental processes for resulting and documentation of exams.
  • Demonstrate a complete working knowledge of all equipment in the Nuclear Medicine department.
  • Prepare, calibrate, document accurately, and administer radiopharmaceuticals via injection, ingestion, and inhalation.
  • Perform SPECT imaging.
  • Maintain a daily activities log.
  • Ensure appropriate storage and ordering of supplies for the Nuclear Medicine area, monitoring and reporting any shortages.
  • Conduct visual preventive safety inspections and daily quality assurance tests on all equipment, identifying any problems and communicating them to the immediate supervisor.
  • Evaluate recorded images for technical quality and demonstrate anatomy through proper positioning.
  • Provide radiation protection to patients, staff, and self according to prescribed safety standards.
  • Effectively operate radiation detection equipment.
