Position Overview
The University of Kansas Medical Center is seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology. This position involves a blend of clinical responsibilities and academic engagement.
Essential Qualifications
Educational Background:
- MD, DO, or an equivalent foreign medical degree.
- Must be eligible for a medical license in Kansas.
Professional Experience: Completion of a residency in neurology followed by a fellowship in neuromuscular medicine is required.
Desirable Skills: Strong communication abilities are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide patient care in the outpatient neurology neuromuscular clinic.
- Occasionally oversee the academic teaching service within the inpatient hospital setting.
- Supervise neurology residents and fellows, including their training in both hospital and outpatient environments.
- Instruct medical students during their inpatient and outpatient rotations and deliver occasional lectures.
- Engage in scholarly activities focused on neuromuscular medicine.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Department Chair.
