Job Overview

Southwire Company, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the erection, commissioning, and start-up of SCR projects. You will work closely with customers and sub-suppliers to ensure successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise installation and start-up of SCR systems
  • Perform site engineering, engineering coordination, and start-up engineering for systems
  • Develop new equipment and techniques, including selection and evaluation of hardware and software
  • Transfer operating knowledge to SCR customers through training, publications, discussions, presentations, and other forms of communication
  • Train new employees on the SCR process
  • Make suggestions for improving SCR equipment and processes
  • Answer technical questions from customers and new employees
  • Produce daily progress reports during startups and field service visits
  • Write trip reports after customer visits

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate design information from various documents
  • Ability to focus efforts towards successful project completion
  • Flexibility and adaptability to rapidly changing requirements
  • Ability to use AutoCad (desired but not required)

Education and Experience

A Bachelor of Science degree in industrial, electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering is required. Fluency in one of the following languages is desirable: Hindi, Chinese, Arabic, or Russian.

Physical, Mental, and Visual Effort

International travel is required, up to 50%, for several weeks duration at a time. The Process Engineer must have tenacity and an ability to work with a diverse group of international customers.

Supervision and Reporting

This individual requires minimum supervision to accomplish the wide variety of tasks required. They must have an ability to recall, locate, summarize, and communicate answers to questions posed by SCR customers.
