About the Position

The executive vice provost supports the provost in leading the university's academic mission. This role involves collaborating with senior leaders to align activities, efforts, and resources towards the provost's vision. The EVP will lead efforts to create a cohesive academic leadership group, focusing on inclusive excellence, distinction, and impact in teaching, research, and service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead faculty appointment, promotion, tenure, and retention efforts.
  • Coordinate strategic initiatives and serve as a liaison among various academic affairs efforts.
  • Assist the provost in developing and implementing academic priorities, plans, and policies.
  • Link the provost to senior leaders across campus and within the UMass System.
  • Represent the provost on relevant councils and committees.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will be an accomplished scholar with a strong academic record, experience in leading grants, and administrative leadership at a research university. They will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to set strategic agendas and priorities.

Work and Salary Information

This is a full-time position located in Amherst, MA. The compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
