We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Roadway Inspection Specialist to join our team in Virginia. This full-time position offers a salary range of $80,000 - $105,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

About the Job

In this role, you will be responsible for performing inspections of roadway and bridge construction projects, ensuring compliance with contract specifications and safety protocols. You will also communicate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.

  • Familiarity with the DOT Standard Specifications, Standard Drawings, and Construction Manual; able to provide on-site contract compliance inspection for roadway, structure, and bridge construction projects, schedule/budget monitoring, and quality assurance for projects.
  • Communicate with the project manager daily. Must be able to have effective communication skills with supervisors, DOT, and contractors.
  • Ensure construction is completed according to the contract specifications; this includes monitoring each phase of work.
Qualifications

To succeed in this position, you should have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, with relevant coursework in civil engineering, project management, or materials science.
  • OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

You will also need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
