Position Overview

The selected candidate will join a dedicated Information Security team as a Cybersecurity Assurance Specialist.

Key Responsibilities


This role encompasses a variety of tasks aimed at safeguarding information and upholding security measures for an entire system, site, or program to mitigate risks.

  • Assist in identifying and managing risks associated with the processing, storage, or transmission of information within an Information System.
  • Establish, implement, and oversee security protocols and practices aligned with customer needs and objectives.
  • Work to reduce or eliminate threats to the confidentiality, integrity, or availability of information and information systems.
  • Develop and maintain assessment and authorization documentation for information systems.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures as detailed in the System Security Plan.
  • Take corrective measures to address issues identified and guarantee that systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Create processes for managing, reviewing, and retaining security audit data, reporting any discrepancies to the Information System Security Manager (ISSM).
  • Conduct security audits in accordance with established protocols.
  • Establish system-specific recovery processes to ensure that security features and procedures are adequately protected and restored.
  • Engage in vulnerability management activities, including scanning, assessment, reporting, and verification of mitigation efforts, as well as conducting security reviews and tests to confirm the functionality and effectiveness of security controls.
  • Implement corrective actions to resolve identified vulnerabilities.
  • Perform routine maintenance on systems, including the installation of operating system patches and updates to virus definitions.
  • Manage user accounts as required.
Basic Qualifications

An active DoD Top Secret clearance is essential for consideration.


A Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Information Technology/Network Administration, or a related field, or 4 – 8 years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.


Possess a current DoD compliant certification for IAM Level I, such as Security + w/CE, or the ability to obtain it within 6 months of employment.


A foundational understanding of Windows-based Information Systems, along with basic experience in LINUX operating systems.


The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional customer service skills and demonstrate the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, schedule effectively, and manage multiple responsibilities.


Must achieve CISSP certification within 6 months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in conducting security audits of information systems.

Extensive training or experience with Windows-based Information Systems and a working knowledge of LINUX operating systems.

Current Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) certification.

Experience in vulnerability assessment and analysis utilizing SCAP, ACAS/NESSUS, and DISA STIGs.

Familiarity with DoD implementation of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and related directives (NIST, CNSS, DSS, etc.).
