This is a research-focused role within the Department of Infectious Diseases, College of Veterinary Medicine, at the University of Georgia. The successful candidate will work closely with Prof. Stephen Trent, the Principal Investigator, to conduct research on understanding the bacterial cell envelope.
Key Responsibilities- Design and conduct experiments related to the bacterial cell envelope
- Analyze and interpret data, and summarize results
- Contribute to grant proposals and write research publications
- Assist with mentoring students in the laboratory
- PhD in the relevant discipline
- 8+ years of research experience in the field of bacterial cell envelope studies
- Experience with next-gen sequencing, including Tn-seq
- Engineering strains in Escherichia coli and Acinetobacter baumannii
This is a non-tenure track position with a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will have access to the University's research facilities and resources.
