Department: Radiology-Administration
Shift: First Shift
Standard Weekly Hours: 40
Summary:
The Radiation Safety Officer will oversee the radiation safety program, ensuring compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations. This role collaborates closely with the Department Director of Radiology and Medical Physicist to maintain a safe environment for staff, patients, families, and visitors.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in a relevant field.
- Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) or ARRT (N) registration.
- Licensed as a Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist in Texas.
- Certification as a Health Physicist with a minimum of three years of documented experience in radiation safety.
- Completion of 200 hours of training in areas including radiation physics, protection, dosimetry, and biology.
- One year of radiation safety experience under the supervision of a qualified Radiation Safety Officer.
- Experience with I-131 therapy and related safety protocols.
Licensure and Certification:
Must possess licensure as a Certified Health Physicist, Nuclear Medicine Technologist, or Radiation Therapist.
