Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team at Texas Children’s Hospital. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:- Perform comprehensive assessments of patients and develop individualized care plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and make decisions about treatment plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians and accurately document patient information in medical records.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in unit-based performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and colleagues to foster a positive and supportive work environment.
- Stay current with advances in pediatric nursing practice and technology to provide evidence-based care.
- Meet regulatory requirements and adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or an associate’s degree with current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas or Nurse Licensure Compact.
- American Heart Association BLS certification and ACLS certification.
- One year of professional nursing experience in a pediatric or critical care setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time, and maintain a high level of productivity in a fast-paced environment.
