Your Role:

The Instructional Support Specialist is essential in maintaining instructional continuity, fostering a positive classroom environment, and upholding school-wide systems by providing coverage in classrooms during teacher absences. This role supports our network of schools and may involve working in either elementary or middle school settings. Additionally, the Specialist is expected to engage in all community-related activities and responsibilities throughout the school day, including lunch and dismissal duties, as well as afterschool commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Classroom Coverage: Act as an internal substitute teacher, providing support across the network when teachers are unavailable.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside instructional staff and school leaders on lesson planning and assessments as needed.
  • Family Communication: Maintain proactive communication with families regarding the scholars you support.
  • Behavior Management: Implement the Achievement Prep behavior system consistently.
  • General Support: Assist in facilitating school-wide assessments and provide additional support in classrooms with higher needs.
  • Professional Development: Participate in daily staff meetings and ongoing professional development sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in K-12 education.
  • Experience working in underserved communities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
