Job Summary


Under the guidance of the Director of Nutrition Services, this position is responsible for providing culinary and nutritional leadership within the Child Nutrition Services program.

The role encompasses planning, coordinating, and directing the Live Oak School District Food Lab Program while managing the daily operations of the central kitchen.

The Food Lab Program offers students the chance to prepare and cook meals that comply with the National School Lunch Program and Child Adult Care Food Program.

This position specifically involves overseeing students' food preparation in a commercial kitchen setting. Daily responsibilities include managing operations in a multi-task environment, ordering food and supplies as needed, and conducting nutrition analysis to ensure adherence to state and federal regulations. Proficiency in computer usage and software applications is essential.

This role also entails representing the Child Nutrition Program positively and engaging in public relations activities with various vendors, serving as a liaison with staff regarding menu management.

Accurate record-keeping for state and federal meal reimbursement is crucial. Additionally, the role requires maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment for all employees.
