Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the performance of processes, products, and components to uncover opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and oversee quality plans tailored to meet specific customer requirements.
  • Deliver weekly management reports and analyses regarding quality data at both customer and process levels.
  • Provide technical guidance on product specifications, including labels, quality objectives, assembly requirements, and performance criteria.
  • Implement and monitor statistical process controls to ensure product quality.
  • Ensure adherence to established ISO internal controls.
  • Support production processes through effective quality assurance measures.
  • Train QA Technicians, Operations staff, and entry-level Engineers on relevant procedures and systems.
  • Assist operators and technicians in utilizing the shop floor system effectively.
  • Manage, analyze, and disseminate quality performance reports, including process yields, defect/root cause analyses, and corrective actions.
  • Review quality and product data to confirm compliance with specifications.
  • Generate and drive corrective actions on Corrective Action Reports (CARs).
  • Conduct internal quality audits to ensure compliance.
  • Lead failure analysis on systemic non-conformances and field returns, implementing necessary corrective actions.
  • Create process documentation, including procedures, process alerts, deviations, and purges.
  • Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) review and disposition processes.
  • Recommend Design for Manufacturing (DFM) or Design for Testability (DFT) analyses for quality enhancement and cost reduction.
  • Facilitate Engineering Change Order (ECO) implementation with thorough analysis, approval, and verification.
  • Provide New Product Introduction (NPI) support to product teams, suppliers, and customers.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as directed to meet business needs.

Candidate Profile

The Ideal Electronics Quality Assurance Engineer Will Have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering.
  • 5-10 years of experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • A proactive approach to investigating production opportunities and identifying root causes and preventive measures.
  • Strong knowledge of statistics and statistical methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • A background in medium to high-volume system-level assembly and/or Surface Mount Technology (SMT) manufacturing environments, including experience with electrical, mechanical, and/or Printed Circuit Assembly (PCA) components.
