Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Postdoctoral Research Scholar to join our research team at San Diego State University Research Foundation. The successful candidate will lead efforts in seabird population quantitative analyses and work closely with our team to monitor and conserve seabird populations in Southern California.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct quantitative analyses using archived data from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW)
  • Develop and implement demographic analyses, population trend analysis, and multivariate statistical analyses on multiple data sources
  • Communicate research findings through written and oral presentations, including webinars, manuscripts, and grant proposals
Qualifications
  • PhD in an appropriate field, such as ecology, applied conservation science, or a related field
  • 0-5 years of relevant experience in quantitative population analyses and approaches
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, strong writing capacity, and a growing publication record
Working Conditions
  • Based at San Diego State University (SDSU) and working under the direction of Dr. Rebecca Lewison
  • May require travel within California
Benefits
  • Appointment for two years from start date, contingent upon performance
  • Starting salary approximately $66,560 per year, plus benefits (DOE)
