As a vital member of the Kaniksu Community Health Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Team, under the guidance of the KCH Director of Nursing, Charge Nurse, and Medical Staff Providers, the Certified Medical Assistant (C.M.A.) will:

  • Prepare treatment areas, arrange instruments and equipment, and assist in patient intake.
  • Deliver delegated patient care and therapeutic interventions within the appropriate scope of practice, aligned with the clinical assistant's education and training.
  • Foster a positive team environment and contribute effectively as a member of the PCMH team.
  • Administer medications, provide injections, and apply dressings in accordance with KCH policies and procedures.
  • Process prescription requests following written orders from Medical Providers.
  • Complete laboratory and diagnostic testing requests and schedule patient appointments based on Medical Provider directives.
  • Perform additional related duties as necessary; a full job description is available upon request.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited medical and/or nursing assistant program with a current C.M.A credential.
  • Experience in a community health center, public health, or community hospital is preferred.
  • Possess the cognitive skills necessary to comprehend medical instructions, identify issues, and propose solutions.
  • Basic typing and computer skills are required.
  • Exhibit accuracy, proficiency, and efficiency in all tasks.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and families, utilizing professionalism and tact.
