Join Our Team as a Full-Time Anesthesiologist

Salem Health is seeking a skilled Anesthesiologist to join our team in a collaborative practice model. As a full-time Anesthesiologist, you will work alongside supervised CRNAs in a variety of surgical cases, including trauma, general, neurosurgery, spine, orthopedics, urology, vascular, ophthalmology, gyn, OB, ENT, pediatrics, cardiothoracic, electrophysiology, GI, and pulmonary procedures.

Background/Expertise:
  • Degree of doctor of medicine (M.D.) or osteopathy (D.O.)
  • Successfully completed a training program in anesthesiology accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
  • Board Certification in Anesthesiology by the American Board of Anesthesiology or the American Osteopathic Board of Anesthesiology
  • Applicants who are not Board Certified must obtain board certification within five years from completion of the applicable Residency and/or Fellowship program for the privileges being requested at Salem Hospital
  • Demonstrate experience and current competency, to include the performance of at least 500 anesthesiology cases during the past 24 months at all hospitals and surgical facilities
  • Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Oregon
  • Compliance with the ABA Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology Program (MOCA)
Preference may be given to candidates who exhibit:
  • Current Physician's Recognition Award of the American Medical Association or completion of 100 hours of continuing medical education (CME) over two years, of which 40 hours are in category 1 of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME)
  • Compliance with relevant state or institutional requirements for CME
  • At least 50 percent of CME hours in the primary specialty of practice
