Job Summary:

Carondelet Holy Cross Hospital is seeking a skilled RN House Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our operational units are running effectively and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight for multiple hospital departments in the absence of unit management.
  • Address patient care, staffing, and any other issues that may arise.
  • Assume responsibility for supervision and administrative decision making for the care and coordination of nursing and patient care services during the evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
  • Ensure that hospital policies and procedures are followed.
  • Participate in patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Act as the Incident Commander until relieved by a more senior administrator during a hospital disaster.
  • Oversee assignment of patient care services staff from Central Resource Team to units.
  • Relate effectively with other shifts for continuity of care.
  • Oversee flow of medical charts, supplies, and staffing to maintain adequate levels.
  • Train, coach, evaluate, and supervise associates on performance expectations and apply progressive discipline when appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Valid current Arizona Nursing License or compact state license and ability to become Arizona Licensed in 30 days.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association, and Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) within 90 days.
  • Graduate of accredited school of Nursing. Completion of Front-Line Leadership Development Program within one year.
  • Must have functioned in an RN role for a minimum of 1-year clinical experience required.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Use of general patient care equipment and communication equipment.
  • Use of unit-specific equipment (clinical and general).
  • Ability to adapt to changes in healthcare technology and support others in transition and learning.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Nurse Practice Act.
  • Basic computer skills.
