Job Title: Early Intervention Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Intervention Assistant to join our team at Momentum, formerly UCPLA. As an Early Intervention Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, supportive services to children with special needs and their families.

Job Summary:

The Early Intervention Assistant will work collaboratively with our team of therapists and teachers to create a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment for children to learn and grow. This role requires a strong commitment to building relationships with families, promoting social interaction and play, and supporting children in developing essential skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide ongoing support to therapists and teachers by encouraging children to participate in therapy groups or other program activities
  • Build, support, and maintain relationships with participating families
  • Assist children in safely completing therapeutic activities and promote social interaction and play
  • Lead developmental center activities by providing stimulating and structured play activities for children to practice the skills they are learning in their therapy groups
  • Participate in daily collaboration and monthly staff meetings
  • Participate in maintenance of equipment and toys
  • Know, follow, and uphold Momentum's policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet department and/or business needs
Requirements:
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • High School diploma or equivalent; required
  • Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Psychology, or related field; preferred
  • Read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English well enough to perform essential duties and responsibilities; required
  • Work collaboratively with families
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Communicate and work professionally and cooperatively with others
  • Successfully pass all post-offer, pre-employment screening requirements, including criminal background check, TB test, and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Ability to run, push, pull, bend, squat, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.
