Job Title: Embedded Hardware Engineer

As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the design, integration, and improvement of firmware stacks for our main computational board embedded in our devices.

This includes designing and implementing low-level embedded software on our hardware platform, including device drivers, communication protocols, security requirements, refactoring, and porting existing code.

Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to technical discussions and influence decisions across multiple teams and products.
  • Participate in high-level reviews of architecture and product designs.
  • Drive technology roadmaps for the organization.
  • Demonstrate design creativity and positive impact.
  • Establish engineering excellence and set company best-practices within the department.
  • Develop talent, career skills, and mentor engineers.
  • Explore external technology offerings and work with vendors to meet current and future technology needs.
  • Stay current with industry trends and technology by performing research and attending trade shows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (HW, SW, Product, ME) to develop and validate new product and service offerings.
  • Develop intellectual properties to reinforce the patent portfolio.
Requirements:
  • Possess a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences through high-quality and usable released hardware.
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Have 5+ years of hardware development experience, including full life cycle and design-to-delivery experience.
  • Be proficient in rapid prototyping of hardware, including dev kits, 3D printing, and embedded software.
  • Have experience with full product life-cycle, including brainstorming, product prototyping, and realization.
  • Be familiar with PCB design and layout, including ORCAD design package.
  • Have experience with regulatory compliance for hardware, including FCC, UL, IEEE-1725, and CEC.
  • Be knowledgeable in embedded system design, including processor selection, communication protocols, and extremely low power design.
  • Have experience with RF technology and RF design, especially for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
  • Be familiar with basic mechanical design, including CAD design tools and 3D modeling of electronic designs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hold a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Have experience with ARM multi-core processors.
  • Be skilled in extremely battery-efficient designs.
  • Have experience with navigation sensors, such as IMUs, GPS, and other location services.
  • Be knowledgeable in wireless BLE 4.0 protocols, TCP/IP networking, and understand protocol.
  • Have experience working with cellular modems and modules.
Location and Contract:

Onsite in Bellevue, WA. Must provide proof of vaccination status.

One-year contract with possibility for extension or conversion.
