Student Engagement Coordinator for Interfaith Initiatives

Objective: To assist in the facilitation of interfaith initiatives through the Chaplains Office, catering to the diverse community of students, faculty, and staff across the Claremont Colleges.
Key Responsibilities:
The following are the primary duties and responsibilities that the individual must be equipped to execute:
- Assist Chaplains in the coordination and promotion of interfaith activities for the Claremont Colleges.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of an interfaith banquet for the Claremont Colleges.
- Develop, organize, and lead interfaith leadership training sessions for students, faculty, and staff as necessary.
- Support Chaplains with various events and programs held at the McAlister Center.
- Create engaging opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to connect with the Chaplains through various media platforms, including social media and the official website.
- Assist Chaplain-related personnel and fellow student workers with additional projects.
- Foster relationship-building between the McAlister Center and other campus organizations, as well as interfaith opportunities within the local community.
Essential Qualifications: The following qualifications are necessary to fulfill the key responsibilities of this role, or the individual must demonstrate how they will accomplish the essential functions using other relevant qualifications:
Education: Must be currently enrolled and attending one of the Claremont Colleges.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong planning, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Adaptable, organized, creative, and energetic demeanor.
- Experience engaging with undergraduate and graduate student populations.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Understanding of leveraging social media for event and service promotion.
- Other relevant knowledge, skills, or competencies.
- Experience in planning and promoting both small and large-scale events and information campaigns.
- Experience working with diverse student populations, including students of color, students with disabilities, low-income and/or first-generation students, international students, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
- Familiarity with interfaith resources and best practices.
COMPENSATION
Pay: $16.00 per hour.
