We are seeking a highly skilled Primary Care Physician to join our team at the Department of Veteran Affairs in Las Vegas, NV. As a Primary Care Physician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to our veteran patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive medical care to a panel of patients, including chronic condition management, inter-current medical condition evaluation and treatment, and preventive care.
- Collaborate with a Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) to provide accessible, comprehensive, coordinated, and continuous care to assigned patients.
- Perform disease prevention-related activities, including gender and age-specific screenings, mental health screenings, and health promotion activities.
- Screen for, evaluate, and treat uncomplicated common mental health disorders, including depression and common addictions, with referrals made to mental health providers as needed.
- Provide comprehensive gender-specific care for female veterans, including age-appropriate cervical and breast cancer screening, menopause and contraceptive management, and initial evaluation of basic gynecological concerns.
- Have a DEA X-waiver to work with substance use disorder.
- Supervise or collaborate with primary care mid-level providers.
- Provide clinical oversight and participate in peer review of other primary care providers through periodic chart reviews.
- Act as a surrogate for absent primary care providers when needed, including review of CPRS view alerts.
- Regularly attend primary care staff meetings, departmental meetings, and medical staff meetings.
- Timely documentation of notes and encounter forms is necessary in all areas in accordance with facility policy.
- Clinical reminders should be addressed as medically appropriate, and quality of care should meet professional standards.
- Utilize all Virtual Care modalities as an expectation of this position.
- Provide timely follow-up on results, including completion of view alerts.
- Prescribe medication according to approved formulary and in accordance with Federal and State Law.
- Consult other specialties as appropriate, according to service agreements.
- Demonstrate flexibility in responding to clinic demands, adhere to personal and professional obligations and responsibilities, practice and maintain ethical standards, and sustain a work environment that is harmonious and customer service-oriented.
Monday - Friday, 08:00 AM - 04:30 PM. May be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis based on patient care needs, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
Benefits and Features- Expected Salary range from $226,000.00 to $243,000.00, with consideration given to candidate's qualifications, credentials, and experience; and may include up to $15,000 in Annual Performance Bonus.

- Federal Retirement Plans through the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) - A three-tiered retirement plan composed of 1) Social Security benefits; 2) FERS-FRAE basic benefits (pension); and 3) Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) which is a 401K-type plan, with up to five percent government matching.
