About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Executive Director of Operations to lead our Construction, Purchasing, and Warranty teams at Century Communities. This is a critical role that requires a strong leader with a proven track record in managing complex operations, driving cost controls, and ensuring quality home production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Construction:
    • Oversee the delivery of high-quality homes on time, while balancing financial objectives.
    • Lead and manage construction field personnel, ensuring quality work and adherence to company standards.
    • Evaluate and manage building schedules to achieve predictable and repeatable cycle times.
    • Develop and manage construction personnel, ensuring accurate construction status reporting.
    • Ensure compliance with quality control, quality assurance, EPA, and OSHA regulations.
    • Manage relationships with third-party risk engineering departments and construction insurance providers.
    • Ensure the appearance of all communities, models, and spec homes meets company standards.
  • Purchasing:
    • Continuously evaluate and improve direct labor and materials costs.
    • Manage outside trade partner and vendor relationships to ensure quality work, market competitive pricing, and good communication.
    • Provide strategic direction on material usage and best building practices, prioritizing cost and quality.
    • Collaborate with corporate and outside trade partners to maintain and evolve floor plans and product offerings.
  • Customer Care Department:
    • Oversee and manage staff responsible for New Home Warranty and Service.
    • Establish and monitor customer care policies, processes, and procedures to ensure complete homebuyer satisfaction.
    • Resolve customer complaints and improve customer survey results and overall customer experience.
  • Supervisory Responsibility:
    • Plan and direct work, appraise performance, and recommend promotions, transfers, salary, hiring, disciplinary discussions, and terminations.
    • Manage field development operations.
  • Safety:
    • Collaborate with corporate teams to maintain a general safety program and conduct periodic inspections and yearly safety programs.
    • Report unsafe practices to management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in single and multi-family construction management.
  • Previous experience managing internal and field personnel.
