POSITION: REGISTERED NURSE - OBSERVATION UNIT
The 1DOU is a 30-bed observation unit primarily focused on telemetry and medical/surgical patients. Patients typically stay for 24-48 hours for observation, with some admitted for up to 3 days. This dynamic unit experiences numerous admissions and discharges daily, making it an excellent environment for new graduates to enhance their nursing skills.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver responsible for planning, delivering, and overseeing patient care and education, utilizing the nursing process in alignment with established patient care standards and physician directives. The nurse serves as a vital link between physicians, patients, and families, collaborating with other healthcare professionals.
Additionally, the staff nurse plays a role in orienting new personnel and may engage in health center and departmental committees.
The nurse must demonstrate the necessary knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care, considering chronological age, developmental stage, and psycho-social maturity.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program and possess current licensure from the Ohio State Board of Nursing.
Experience:
New graduates are encouraged to apply.
Licensure and Certification:
Current Ohio State Board of Nursing license is required. CPR and BLS certifications are mandatory.
