Job Summary

Ensemble Health Partners is seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist to join our team. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our revenue cycle management solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform admission duties for all patients admitted for services at the hospital, meeting the mission and goals of the organization and all regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Assign accurate MRNs, complete medical necessity/compliance checks, provide proper patient instructions, collect insurance information, receive, and process physician orders.
  • Utilize an overlay tool while providing excellent customer service as measured by Press Ganey.
  • Operate the telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and inter-office calls as applicable.
  • Adhere to policies and provide excellent customer service in interactions with patients and other stakeholders.
  • Pre-register patient accounts before patient visits, including inbound and outbound calling to obtain demographic, insurance, and other patient information.
  • Explain general consent for treatment forms to patients/guarantors/legal guardians and obtain necessary signatures and witness's name.
  • Review eligibility responses in the insurance verification system and select the applicable insurance plan code, enter benefit data into the system to support Point of Service Collections and billing processes.
  • Accurately screen medical necessity using the Advance Beneficiary Notice (ABN) software to inform Medicare patients of potential non-payment of tests by Medicare and distribute the ABN as appropriate.
  • Conduct audits of accounts and assure that all forms are completed accurately, and on time to meet audit standards and provide statistical data to Patient Access leadership.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • CRCR Certification (Certified Revenue Cycle Representative) within 6 months of hire (Company Paid)
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
