At Grafton Integrated Health Network, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Therapist II to join our team. As a Therapist II, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic and counseling services to our students, helping them achieve their full potential.
Job SummaryThe Therapist II will work under general supervision to plan and implement therapeutic and counseling services and programs for assigned students. This includes assessing student cognitive, behavioral, social, and emotional needs, developing therapeutic goals and objectives, and providing individual and group therapy sessions.
Key Responsibilities- Provide therapeutic and counseling programs and services for assigned students, including individual and group therapy sessions.
- Conduct student assessments and evaluations to determine abilities and needs with regard to cognitive, behavioral, social, and emotional development.
- Develop therapeutic goals and objectives and treatment plans for each student based on needs and abilities.
- Write therapeutic and behavioral goals and objectives for student IEPs.
- Develop therapy plans, activities, and experiences that address identified goals and objectives.
- Conduct individual and group therapy sessions, implementing activities and providing experiences that develop student cognitive, social, and problem-solving skills.
- Collect and record behavioral and progress-related data obtained from therapy sessions and activities.
- Evaluate students' achievements and progress pertaining to therapeutic and behavioral programs.
- Document progress, accomplishments, and behavioral developments in quarterly progress reports, discharge summaries, and annual reviews.
- Consult with supervisors, academic peers, and other Grafton staff relating to student treatment plans and needs.
- Ensure compatibility of instructional formats and management procedures for each student in concert with their treatment team and overall treatment needs.
- Provide behavioral consultation and guidance to other Grafton staff working with assigned students.
- Serve as an advocate for students, recommending, co-designing, and helping to ensure implementation of student transition plans.
- Review admissions packets and participate in pre-placement interviews.
- Provide clinical supervision to non-licensed therapists, assisting them in developing an action plan for pursuing licensure.
- Work with consulting psychologists to assign supervision hours, ensuring clinical accountability of non-licensed therapists.
- Identify and obtain necessary supplies and equipment.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies as needed, documenting and reporting all incidents in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Serve as an on-call therapist as assigned, responding to student crises.
- Maintain open communications and provide information and interpretations to parents, guardians, and other human services agencies regarding student progress, needs, and treatment plans.
- Participate in a variety of meetings and committees, such as IEP meetings, staff meetings, etc.
- Provide program-related training to Grafton staff as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A master's degree in counseling, social work, or psychology.
- 2 years of clinical experience providing counseling services and therapy, or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Licensure as a clinical social worker, professional counselor/clinical counselor, or clinical psychologist.
