  • Implement music, art, and play therapies to facilitate emotional exploration and self-awareness.
  • Provide education to patients and their families about the advantages and applications of expressive therapies in everyday life.
  • Set therapeutic objectives for sessions focused on creative or expressive art therapy.
  • Organize recreational expressive activities that promote healing and self-expression.
  • Deliver patient care through tailored expressive therapy interventions.
  • Incorporate engaging activities that assist individuals in navigating life transitions and emotional challenges.
  • Support children in recognizing and expressing their emotional responses through various expressive modalities.
  • Manage a caseload with accurate assessments, planning, implementation, and documentation.
  • Act as an advocate for patients regarding their expressive therapy needs.
  • Regularly update service plans to reflect the evolving needs of patients.
  • Ensure timely submission of documentation, including progress notes and service plans.
  • Complete progress notes within three days of service delivery to facilitate supervisor approval.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Certification in relevant therapeutic fields.
  • Child Life Specialist certification or equivalent qualifications.
  • Experience working with medically fragile populations and pediatric patients, particularly in end-of-life care.
  • Background check is mandatory.

**Note:** Student interns under supervision may provide services within the scope of New York State Education law.
