About the Role

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with expertise in Distributed Energy Resources to join our team at Glumac, A Tetra Tech Company. As a key member of our Electrical Team, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing innovative solutions for renewable energy sources, including PV, wind, fuel cells, solar, battery storage, and EV charging.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical lead and design experience for Distributed Energy Resources projects
  • Assist in the design and technical analysis for battery energy storage, DERs, and microgrid design
  • Work closely with our Building Science group to expand Glumac's portfolio of Distributed Energy projects
  • Design and plan electrical power systems for various projects, including industrial and manufacturing facilities, campuses, hospitals, laboratories, high-rise offices, educational facilities, and other commercial and institutional projects
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience with technical lead and design experience
  • Electrical utility resilience planning and long-term master planning
  • Project design experience with at least two of the following: commercial PV solar design, on-shore wind turbine, clean fuel cell, clean linear generators, large-scale battery energy storage systems, large-scale electric vehicle charging infrastructure, microgrids utilizing relays and advanced control logic
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent industry experience
  • Current Professional Engineering (PE) license is required
  • Knowledge of codes, standards, and financial incentives for alternative energy systems, especially ones related to DER integration with the utility
  • Knowledge in REVIT
  • Familiarity with microgrid/DER analysis or control software
  • Experience with short circuit/coordination/arc flash software
  • Experience with designing Medium Voltage (2.4kV to 35 kV distribution), such as campus loops is a plus
  • Knowledge in AutoCAD is a plus
