Job Summary

Emory Healthcare is seeking an experienced Medical Technologist II to join our team. As a Medical Technologist II, you will be responsible for performing various laboratory tests and procedures to assist in the diagnosis, study, and treatment of disease.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of laboratory tests and procedures, including standardized and semi-routine biological, chemical, hematological, immunological, immunohematological, microbiological, and serological tests.
  • Evaluate test results and determine whether they should be released, repeated, or referred to a pathologist.
  • May serve as a key operator for the implementation of new equipment and procedures.
  • May teach medical technology theory and techniques to lower-level technologists.
  • May perform venipuncture or capillary puncture to obtain blood specimens.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology, or a chemical, physical, or biological science.
  • Two years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Certification by one of the following accreditation agencies: MT (ASCP), MLS (ASCP), MT (AMT), MT (HHS or HEW), MT (AAB), generalist or categorical if applicable.
