Job Title: Clinical Laboratory Technologist

About the Role

As a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, you will play a critical role in detecting, identifying, and reporting communicable diseases within the State of Georgia. You will work in a dynamic and diverse team environment, collaborating with colleagues to achieve our mission of protecting lives and promoting healthy lifestyles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform day-to-day testing on serological testing for Hepatitis (A, B and C), HIV, Syphilis, TORCH panel, Vaccine Preventable Diseases and Arboviruses.
  • Interpret complex or ambiguous results and troubleshoot instrumentation and testing problems.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory standards, including CLIA, OSHA, and other federal and state regulations.
  • Participate in required workplace training regarding safety of the physical environment and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in a related science area from an accredited college or university.
  • Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) by a nationally accredited certifying agency.
  • Three years of job-related science experience or two years of experience at the lower level Medical/Clinical Specialist 2 (LSP011) or equivalent position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related science area from an accredited college or university.
  • Two years of experience in a clinical laboratory.
  • Certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) by a nationally accredited certifying agency.
