Job Title: Senior Research Technician III

Kapili Services, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Technician III to join our team. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for conducting laboratory research and supporting our government customer located in Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct laboratory research and experiments in accordance with established project management plans and federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Perform wet bench assays, including PCR, ELISA, western blot, BCA, protein extraction, and other related techniques.
  • Assist Principal Investigators in maintaining lab documentation, lab upkeep, data analysis, and training of new personnel.
  • Set up, maintain, and calibrate electronic physiological devices with PC-based data acquisition and control systems.
  • Perform microscopic analysis using various microscopy techniques, including fluorescence and confocal microscopy.
  • Maintain and organize digital archives of photomicrographs.
  • Perform general microbiological and cell culture methods.
  • Collect, manage, and analyze data for publication.
  • Maintain laboratory notebooks and track inventory of tissue samples.
  • Organize laboratory areas and maintain order of all pertinent supplies related to protocols.
  • Assist in submitting manuscripts, posters, and abstracts to relevant journals and meetings.
  • Plan, organize, and accomplish assignments.
  • Develop, write, and maintain SOPs and protocols, and correspond with the IRB to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain SOPs for review and approval by Capability Area Manager and monitor compliance with DoD/Army safety procedures and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), Clinical Laboratory Improvement Program (CLIP), and the College of American Pathologist (CAP) regulations.
  • Coordinate work to ensure smooth operation, proper delivery of services, and effective customer support.
  • Comply with all Department of Defense, U.S. Army, USAISR, and other Governmental regulatory requirements with special emphasis on safety and security.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in biology, physiology, chemistry, or related field.
  • 10 years of experience with wet benchwork, including PCR, ELISA, western blot, BCA, protein extraction, and other related techniques.
  • 2+ years of experience with laboratory notebook keeping or recordkeeping.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience working with small animals such as rodents, rabbits, and mice.
  • Trauma-related biomedical research in a DoD environment highly desired.
Clearance Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Candidates must be able to pass a favorable National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
