Job Title: Student Conductor

Watco Corp is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Student Conductor to join our team. As a Student Conductor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of trains within our rail yard.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate train movements and switching operations to facilitate the unloading and loading of railcars.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of train crews to ensure timely and safe completion of tasks.
  • Read and interpret switching orders, and communicate effectively with train dispatchers and crew members.
  • Monitor track conditions and detect potential obstructions to ensure safe train movement.
  • Maintain accurate records of train movements, including car numbers, origin, destination, and cargo.
Requirements:
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Basic math skills and ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise levels.
