In this position, you will take charge of developing hardware designs for Helion's fusion generator prototypes, tackling intricate engineering challenges vital for the worldwide implementation of fusion energy.

Act as a cultural leader within our growing team, reporting directly to the Mechanical Engineering Manager.


Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Innovate and refine subsystem designs, including electromagnetic, structural, fluid, thermal, and control systems.
  • Apply established engineering methodologies, create cutting-edge hardware solutions, and perform testing for validation.
  • Utilize advanced 3D CAD software such as NX or Solidworks for the design of fusion hardware.
  • Use analytical tools like ANSYS for assessments and participate in design reviews for constructive feedback and improvements.
  • Collaborate with experienced technicians to implement hardware designs and resolve any issues that arise.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • At least 7 years of experience in executing comprehensive engineering projects.
  • Expertise in applying engineering principles for effective problem-solving.
  • Practical experience across various engineering disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, and fluids.
  • Proficient in CAD software (e.g., NX, Solidworks) and FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS Maxwell, FEMAP).
  • Knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing standards according to ASME Y14.5.

Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $145k-$175k, subject to adjustment based on qualifications and experience.
