SUMMARY OF JOB:


The Emergency Services Technician supports nursing staff by executing a range of technical and patient care tasks, as well as assisting with the operational duties of the Emergency Department. This role involves providing both direct and indirect patient care under the close supervision of a Registered Nurse and effectively communicating with multidisciplinary team members regarding any changes in patient conditions or responses to treatments. The technician acts as an advocate for patients and families, ensuring their needs are met throughout their hospital experience.

RECRUITMENT REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or equivalent

Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic certification is preferred

CPR certification

Health Aide Certificate or a minimum of 2 years experience in an acute care environment

Prior clinical healthcare experience is preferred

Availability for alternating shifts is required

Certification in Phlebotomy and EKG procedures

Annual stroke education per unit protocol

Successful completion of orientation and competency validation during the probationary period is mandatory
