Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Tech to provide high-quality patient care in our psychiatric setting. As a Mental Health Tech, you will work closely with our Registered Nurses to provide direct patient care, participate in therapeutic milieu, and assist with patient activities of daily living.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including accurate and timely documentation of patient information
- Establish therapeutic relationships with patients, maintaining professional boundaries
- Participate in patient rounds and teams, and complete patient care assignments
- Identify patient behaviors that contribute to crisis situations and utilize de-escalation techniques
- Communicate changes in patient status to Registered Nurses and follow established Nursing policies and protocols
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED required; two years of college plus one year of clinical experience preferred
- Previous experience in direct patient care, preferably in a psychiatric setting
- Verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work in collaboration with others
