h3Job Description/h3pWe are seeking a highly motivated Recovery Coach to join our team at Gandara Mental Health Center, Inc. As a Recovery Coach, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals in the early stages of recovery by helping to remove barriers and obstacles for those new to the system of care./ppThis is a non-clinical, strength-based peer-to-peer support service in which you will provide individuals with linkages to the recovery community. As a Recovery Coach, you will serve as a personal guide and mentor, helping individuals understand the system of care and how to navigate it./ppbDuties and Responsibilities:/b/pulliParticipate in developing and implementing community activities that support and promote recovery./liliDemonstrate competency in relapse prevention strategies./liliProvide membership program orientation services and requirements./liliConduct confidential, quality supports that are gender and culturally responsive and trauma-informed./liliAssist with the development of individualized recovery plans with each assigned recoveree using collaborative information from all sources to develop short and long-term goals./liliLink recoverees to services provided by community-based organizations such as peer support groups, legal services, nutritional counseling, and HIV rapid retesting and Hepatitis B and C testing./liliProvide recoveree education in finances, housing stability, behavioral and primary health, life skills, and all aspects of addiction and related life domains./liliProvide crisis intervention by assessing severity of the episode, de-escalating the recoveree, referring to emergency response teams as needed, and developing a safety plan to assist in resolving the crisis./liliExemplify recovery principles and set an example that recovery is attainable./li/ulpbMinimum Qualifications:/b/pulliAs a hiring expectation, you must participate in the recovery coach academy program./liliHigh School Diploma or GED, reasonable exceptions may be made in certain situations./liliMust have lived experience and 2 years acknowledged continuous sobriety./liliExperience and knowledge regarding the addiction treatment service system./liliMust have a personal vehicle./liliMust have a valid driver's license./liliBilingual individuals encouraged to apply./liliEligible to be a certified recovery coach./liliExperience with adults diagnosed with a substance use disorder./li/ulpemGandara Mental Health Center, Inc. is an equal employment opportunity employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws./em/p
